Siwgwr Plwm Photoshoot And A Wee Update.

Okay. Now I'm really looking forward to Thursday's shoot. I've got some ideas in mind.

After seeing some photographs by one of my biggest influences, Everett Jelley, I've gone out and bought some christmas lights to try my own twist on his photo "Bubblegum Smile" The idea is to have the model roughly halfway between me and the lights in the background, and hopefully using depth of field the lights in the back will "Bokeh" and create a pretty interesting setting. This will be the first time really I've had a chance to properly experiment with lighting, it is definitely one thing that Jelley has inspired me to improve on. The lighting in nearly all his photos are shit hot. Its spot on and really makes the images pop. Plus experimenting with lighting is something I've always wanted to do but never had the chance to do so because of restricted space. Thursdays shoot really should be an experience.

So all in all everything is slowly falling into place. I'm getting more shoots, I've almost got enough money saved to buy myself a Canon 5D and my portfolio is starting to take place. I'm just waiting to hear now from the bride and groom of the wedding I took in September to see if I can use some of the images for samples and I got a couple of shoots lined up for the new year. Looks like 2011 will hopefully be a busier year!

Just in case you're wondering

The reason I haven't posted my first inspiration is because I'm still waiting to hear from him to gain permission from him to use his photos. Just a little teaser on this photographer. The reason this photographer is an inspiration to me is because he doesn't use amazingly expensive gear you see these top photographers using. He uses a Canon 40D and a Canon EF-s 50mm f1.8 and the quality of his photographs are nothing short of breathtaking. I cannot wait to be able to show you his photographs!!!

In other news, I'm doing a photoshoot on Thursday for someone who designs her own clothes. The idea behind her business is upcycling. She takes old clothes and recycles them into something new. Should be a good shoot and am looking forward to getting some of the images up online for you wonderful people to see : )

Post one of hopefully many...

Okay. Here it goes for about the umpteenth time. Yes surprise surprise I am starting yet another blog. The reason in me beginning this one is so I can get hopefully quite a collection of some of my inspirations and sharing them with you. Yes I know I've tried before but this time I think it's different. Not only am I starting a collection, for you, of people I think really do deserve some recognition, but it's also for me, because I honestly can't remember how much absolutely fantastic work I've seen and thought "Ah! I must remember to come back to this one" and completely forget.

Basically I am hoping, by the time this blog is in full swing, to have a whole library of different genres of photographers who inspire me in completely different ways. I will say little pieces about the artist and why and how they inspire me, and hopefully they will inspire you too.

So yeah that's enough babbling for now. I'm going to let you get back to the important things in life.

Keep an eye on this blog people. I'm really hoping you won't be disappointed :)
